I had a buddy giving me crap about my M1A and how heavy it was "you wont want to carry it around hog hunting for a night"...so then I got kinda worried as he may be right...
Then I remembered, I couldnt tell you how many miles I've walked carrying my 9# Browning Auto 5, through snow, in much heavier clothes with a few birds strapped to my back...so suddenly I was less worried about the M1A.

It IS easier with a lighter rifle for sure...but I guess if you've never known what its like to carry such a light gun you dont know what you're missing :D

Dropping 1 pound from my 7WSM would increase recoil energy by 1.1 pound (not taking muzzle break into account). If I take the muzzle break into account that's still somewhere between a 7 pound 243/260.....I think I'll survive.
