Had the Tavor and happened to see an RDB at a local shop and instantly fell in Lust. After spending range time with both I opted to sell the Tavor and keep the RDB. Mine is the latest Gen and I've had 2 problems with the rifle, a top rail screw working loose, Cleaned the screw and hole and blue loctited that rascal down and 'Viola' fixed, 2 stoppages from underpowered handloads. If your shooting suppressed the RDB has almost 0 'gas in the face' problems that the Tavor. Accuracy from both are about the same except my 77 grain SMK handloads, the Tavor didn't like them but the RDB Loves them. Did I like the Tavor, of course I did but after the RDB I just didn't take it out much so off it went for sale. After around 400 rounds I'm pretty confident of it's reliability as I've only had 2 stoppages and it was with some handloads that were under powered. This opinion is with my RDB and I can't say what others have experienced... By the way paid a little over $900.00 OTD

Well I found an unfired RDB for a good price, so I picked it up today. Can't shoot it til tomorrow, but tonight I'm planning on mounting a 1X Spitfire AR.

My serial number is Z0Rxx, so I'm pretty sure it's a newer one with the upgraded bolt carrier.

Can't wait to shoot this little rascal.

where are you guys finding these reasonably priced RDBs?

I was fortunate to find one on armslist. I had an alert set up on gun.deals, but I missed out when sportsmans guide had them for $900.
I figure that if I don't like it I'll be able to get my money back out of it and maybe try the Tavor or x95.

Still haven't shot it, but I'm very impressed with how solid it feels. Looks like maybe a Tuesday afternoon built rifle as opposed to a Friday afternoon. Looks like KT is still tweeking, because there are some minor differences between the gun and what the exploded diagram in the manual shows.

I do have one problem though. The Spitfire AR mount height is equivalent to a 1/3 co-witness, which means that on the RDB I have to pull my cheek up off the stock a little. It's doable, but I want this gun to fit me like yoga pants on Jen Selter. Red dots are out, since I have slight astigmatism. I love etched reticle scopes like the Spitfire for this reason, but might consider a 1-4 or 1-6 variable.

One other issue is how the mount is oriented due to the angle of the charging handle. Any QD lever or locking nutz need to be very low profile or on the right side of the mount.

Since I bought the RDB instead of the Tavor, I have about $400 in my allotted budget.

Thoughts?

Here's an updated photo with an aluminum handguard. It makes the RDB look a lot less Keltec-ish, and also makes it much more functional. I'm still playing with the weapon light, but this set-up works pretty well. I really like the scope, a PA 1-6 w/ the KISS reticle. I highly recommend it if you're tired of looking through a bunch of clutter.

Haven't been able to shoot it since installing the rail. I did finish assembling a 10.5" pistol with a Tailhook mod 1 brace. Can't wait to get them both to the range and do a little compare and contrast.

I've done a lot of looking into Keltec. I have quite a few of their models, done a lot of research and we were both born in the same year and city (Seriously). I also got a tour of the factory they make them in! I'll put a list of the ones I have at the bottom of this. Keltec usually gets a really bad rap from some places of the world, and it's largely undeserved. If they would start producing more, methinks that reputation will disappear over time. Their low prices makes people wary, but I carry a P3AT half the time I go out.

My own experience with them says the first generation is typically prone to some form of issues but the second and so on are pretty rock solid. My sub2k, KSG, and my non-22 mag handguns have never given me a glitch. The PMR/CMR with the 22 magnums however can be rather picky until you break them in and find the right food to feed them. I have mild experience with the RFB and it is pretty legit, especially if you're a lefty. My own RFB is currently on layaway as those suckers are not cheap...

I have heard a lot of good about the RDB, and there is a keltec owner forum that I will find the link and get you if you'd like. One of the cool things is that it uses AR mags, so if you have one, you already have a mag supply! (Keltec likes doing this with a lot of their stuff)
