Call Asssocited Appliance, Greer, or Marcone. Have the model and serial for your make. Don't waste time with the heat and air places.

Seems like it would still try and fire even set up LP orifices and springs.

Do any ovens use piezo, or are they all electronic?
from my experience and on a sleepy brain

Older ones with standing pilots seem to of died out 10+ years ago and even then they were not common. They can be dangerous and waste gas

Hot Surface ignition is the most common today. The ignitor pulls more and more current as it gets up to temp. They are wired in series with the gas valve and when they pull a certain amount of current the valve opens. They also stay on the entire time the flame is on and pull around 4 amps. I have yet to see this type have any sort of flame sensor. they are cheaper to make but take time to come on ( more so if the HSI is old). So temps can swing quite a bit

Nicer models ( especially ones with features like convection) will have spark ignition so they can maintain heat better by lighting quicker. You'll hear the clicks when the oven cycles if you have one of these. They also have flame sensors to detect the flame ( they act a lot quicker then thermocouples).

I just bought a gas range off Craigslist and the oven/ broiler will not ignite. It's getting gas, but no lighty.

What kind of range is it? I replaces my oven igniter this year it was basciilay 5 screws and one connector and it was done, the part is likely 40 to 60 bucks ......

Anytime I have a problem with an appliance I go to www.applianceclinic.com, you can diagnose your appliance problem and they'll tell you how to repair the appliance and you can purchase the part you need far more reasonable than if you bought it locally. I've repaired several washers, dryers and refrigerators using this website. One can even use youtube.com for repair of nearly everything.

I'll have to make those calls. I found out from GE today I can't just buy the orifice spud, I have to buy the entire tube assembly for 6 burners because they don't sell the spuds separately to go back to NG.

Check Anthony's in MWC, they've always had the best price when I've needed parts. I can pick up the part(s) for you if you need me to.
