Do any of you guys know who has the best prices on cylinders and refills of shielding gas?

Looking for a shop in the OKC area. Everyone's prices seem to vary greatly and they all have different deposits and policies. Feels kind of scammy.

I've been to three in the OKC area. City Carbonic was run by a bunch of jerks, and I wouldn't go back there if you paid me. Eagle Industries, just north of Tinker, has always treated me right, but it's probably a bit far or you. Finally, Airgas--believe it or not--has been decent to me as well. I bought my welder (MM 252), gas bottle, and some supplies there, as well as a refill on my oxygen cylinder for my cutting torch.

I use AirGas, mainly because they never seem to be worried about the inspection dates on the bottles. I've had other places tell me I'd have to have it inspected before they'd fill it. AirGas just swaps bottles.

Seems like it would be a good idea to have a bottle holding explosive gas under pressure to be inspected periodically....but that's just me.

When you buy a bottle, from my experience anyway, you don't actually keep the bottle you buy. When you go in to refill it, the retailer will ask you for the bottle receipt of purchase. This way they know it was actually purchased and not leased or stolen. Then they will exchange it for one of the bottles they have in inventory that is current on inspection and already filled.
