Just an FYI... We had a monitored system in Tulsa for years and the only time the alarm went off that I did not know why and suspected a possible break in, the alarm company called and I told them to send the police. Then I left work, drove across town to home. I went in and saw that the door going from the house to the garage was open. I assume it was not shut good and blew open with the drafts from the garage. I looked around the house and messed around a little bit and decided to go back to work. I was on my way to the truck when I saw a Tulsa police car creeping down the street. I decided that if the Tulsa police do not respond any quicker than that to a home intrusion alarm, then a monitored system was worthless and dropped the service.

2 large and 1 medium sized dogs. Of which there's a Pyrenees mix that can hear a mouse fart at 300 yds. Which is a good and bad thing.....

I have Advance Alarms at my home and one of my businesses. I have ADT at another business. At my home I also have professional digital cameras everywhere ran with Milestone software. I can view it from anywhere with my phone. I also have a lot of Insteon products at my house controlled by Indigo touch. I can turn lights on or off, adjust my thermostat etc. from my phone from anywhere. I also get text messages from it based upon certain sensors I have placed. ADT is easy but the camera quality sucks compared to a real system.
