In the year 2000 at TLC in OKC - cost was around $3k, IIRC. Really appreciated the change since I had been in glasses since 1963 as a third-grader. Time, of course, has marched on and readers became necessary around 2008 for reading & computer work. Driving is still no problem and I use regular Oakley sunglasses.

TLC in OKC, 2011 at age 32, still have 20/15 vision, cost was between $3500-4000 for my package (a free "touch-up" included if ever needed), they had a 2 year interest free deal that I did, definitely worth it just wish I hadn't waited so long!!

My wife got it done back in 2004(ish) at TLC in Tulsa for about $1700 (half covered by insurance.) The whole process took under 10 minutes. Then she napped a good chunk of the afternoon. TLC gave her some plastic things to put over he eyes to keep her from rubbing them while she slept for the first night.

The next morning she was reading the billboards on the way for the checkup. She giggled like a schoolgirl.

Fast forward to today (13 years later). She is still happy but thinks she might need a touch-up. Nice thing is, as long as you go get an eye exam annually, the touch-ups are free.

Had it done in 2008. Dr in OKC, I think his name was Dr. Belardo (SP?). Still have 20/20 in one eye and 20/15 in the other. Well worth it, would do it again in a heartbeat. Been trying to convince my wife to do it. Cost was around $1500. My sister went to the same doctor a few years later and it was $2k.

Hmmmm ... I'm tempted because I'm ALWAYS looking for a pair of readers. I swear to God I own 5,000 pair of glasses and can NEVER find pair when I need them. But I have dry eyes now so ... hmmmmm ... I guess going to check it out couldn't hurt, huh?

I had it done in 2013. I went to Advanced Laser Center on N Penn in OKC. Dr. Balardo did the procedure. They had a groupon sale when I did mine. I can't remember the details of that. I paid right around $1,600 including the groupon for both eyes.

I had PRK done. As a result the recovery is longer than true LASIK. Once my eyes had fully recovered. I had 20/20. I battle dry eyes from time to time and have to keep eye drops around. Reading fine print after a long day can be a challenge. The rest of the time its a non issue.

I had PRK at Massengale in Moore back in March. Longer recovery but lower cost ($2700 and all checkups after were included). Some places are cheap but don't include the checkup costs. I'm 20/20 now and love not having to wear glasses. Now my challenge is getting decent sunglasses that fit my head.

Wiley X for fat noggins.

How was the PRK? I had lasik 10-12 years ago and now, at almost 50, I need some correction. PRK or RPK or some commie sounding surgery was suggested, but it scared me.
