Roberson, George, and Adams will more than make up for his defense. He played on olympic teams and all star teams with great players and I think he will do fine. Hopefully being older and more mature will help him as well.

I didn't mean to imply he wasn't good, just not a good fit. He's from NY so I kinda doubt he's looking forward to planting roots here for a few years. He's just willing to stay a year or two is my bet.

Melo has been a great player for 15 years or so, so he's late in his career. But they are all Forwards, I know you could call Westbrook a 2 guard , but we need not forget about defense and we are trading off some of our best defenders.

WB a forward or a 2 Guard? Seriously?

Dude... I dunno, I just can't disagree more. We still have our 2 absolute BEST defenders, Adams and Roberson. Oladipo was an "ok" defender, Kanter was a wet washrag. McDermott wasn't a great defender from anything I saw, and while he had POTENTIAL to be a great spot-up shooter, he never materialized in action. Oladipo never really stepped up to the plate for a $20M paycheck, either. Patrick Patterson can shoot from outside, as well, and has the size to lend a hand to Adams in the lane, at times, as well.

I dunno... I just don't see the doom and gloom.

There is no doom and gloom, Oladipo was a development player he's just now on his third year in the league I think we gave up on him to a little early but the opportunity to sign George was not one I would pass up either...... same thing with Sabonis I thought he had talent If we could get his head right! Terrence Fereguson had better be a diamond in the rough, so far the footage I can find of him playing is just "ok" playing Australia teams and that's not the best competition but he's young and athletic. Not the pick I would have made though but there isn't a strong body of evidence for or against Ferguson yet. One thing is for sure we will need to look at switching to the Triangle offense with all the firepower we have today and that's if they can get along.

The doom and Gloom will come if we can't re-sign Westbrook and George

There is zero change George is signing in OKC beyond this year. I also think it is highly unlikely 'Melo stays for his player option year. OKC is going to get things done this year, or Russell will probably be leaving, too. I don't want this to happen, but I am preparing for the worst eventuality. This will leave us a YUUUUGE amount of cap space, but I'm beginning to wonder, honestly, about the wisdom of the team moving to OKC. I am proud of us having a team, I would love to go see some games, if they didn't cost an arm and a leg, but we are selling out games all the time.

The problem is the market.

Superstar 20-30 y/o multi-millionaire athletes don't want to live in the quiet midwest. That's the thing that hurts us. If the Thunder organization were located in Miami, in LA, even in Philly, N.Y., or Chicago, it wouldn't be an issue.

It's just a sad fact of life.

Well I think if they look at the kind of house they can own in OKC for 2 million V’s what they can own in Chicago or New York, or Los Angels they just might be ok with high rolling in OKV ....lol.

2 million can get you an entire damn ranch down here, in LA it will get you a cottage

But you are right the draw of OKC isnt quite as exciting as a major city ...... but look at the Mavericks they have sucked for years now and don't show signs of trying to be a contender and Dallas should be enough of a draw for anyone ....and it doesn't flood

Dallas isn't the kind of place these guys want to live, either. Even Houston, S.A., etc., although they are more desired than OKC, I think. Look at where our players spend their time in the off-season...
