School Warns Students Not To Chant 'USA' At Events — Might Be Viewed As Offensive, Intolerant
Administrators at a California school are warning students not to chant "USA!" because doing so could be viewed as offensive and intolerant.

Officials at Vista Del Lago High School in Folsom, not far from Sacramento, say the chant is divisive and inappropriate at sporting events.

Said Folsom Cordova Unified Communications Director Daniel Thigpen: “To practice empathy, to practice kindness and to practice patriotism. You can do both.”

The California Interscholastic Federation, which oversees high school athletics, addressed the concerns with local districts, according to CBS 13.

Seems the kids want to express patriotism, and the schools want to shut down their 1st amendment rights?

Students have very limited First Amendment rights at school activities. Anything the school deems disruptive can generally be prohibited.

Though my interest in the NFL had waned over the last 6 years, I can say without a doubt after seeing the coverage of NFL players kneeling for our anthem and standing for the U.K. anthem. Not only will I never watch the NFL again but I won't (to the best of my ability) spend a dime on anything anywhere that promotes or advertises with the NFL. My first step is going to the bank tomorrow an requesting non visa - pin only check cards. And closing the one visa I have open, it's time to take action. I am tired of millionaire spoiled brats bitching about how ****** America had been to them.

Time to push back on the NFL and all sports that disrespect the country. That's if you're like minded. Tired of BLM and the disrespect theses prima donnas show, then do something about it. Stop watching and supporting them.
Hell of a lot more of us that are sick of this crap than the cowards that sit on their hands and do nothing.
Don't want to hear about their rights. I want the conversation to change to our rights to say screw you and we (the majority) aren't putting up with it anymore.
Stop buying and stop being cowed by these bottom feeders. Use your wallet and voice to end this madness.

Yep, schools have carved out a very effective means to be utterly and horribly wrong, and get away with it.

Putnam City tried this BS with me. (Illegal search and questioning of a minor THEN called me when he was being "uncooperative".) I was livid, to say the least. When I pointed out that by searching him and questioned him without contacting me first they had denied me my rights as the adult responsible for his care (and therefore his defense) they had no answer for that. All of a sudden their "officer" and her partner decided to "drop" their complaints. (Which amounted to a drug dog hitting on the deodorant in my son's backpack. No contraband was produced in their subsequent search of his person, his locker or his truck -- ALL which happened BEFORE they called me)

I was NEVER so glad in my life when online classes were offered for the first time the next year. I pulled my boys out of school, they got full-time jobs, and they did their schoolwork in the evenings. Instead of sitting in useless ****ing classes all day, being harassed by PC's "police force", and school administrators, and then having homework for 3 hours a night. Public schools are a blight on society, in my personal opinion.

I think a good part of this drop in attendance can be attributed to massive inflation that no one will admit is going on. If you wish to bring a country to its knees, inflation is the coup de grace.

Football players are in the news for both being brain-damage and for taking a knee to protest. Not the best combination.

Actually, that would go against all historical data. When times are toughest, escapism is big business. Humans aren't geared to incessantly obsess over negative events and emotions. So people will pay for a respite where they can go and get their minds off problems.

Now take that venue and bring those problems to the forefront of the event? Congratulations, you just erased the very reason someone spent hard earned money to attend your event. If you don't believe me, bring me $150. I'll remind you you're a racist, cause you some mild physical discomfort, tell you a few few jokes and send you on your way with a commemorative trinket. Then you can tell the rest of the audience how that made you feel.
