I went to visit my son in Del Rio last year. Took a wrong turn onto a dirt road and the girlfriend wanted to get out and take some pictures of the sage that was in bloom.
That was a bad idea. In less than two minutes we had border patrol vehicles coming from two directions to check us out. They were condition red upon exiting their vehicles. We stayed put and stayed cool and things worked out ok, but that was a long couple of minutes of fairly intense Q and A, ID and CCL checking. I will say that when it was all said and done, the guys were professional and courteous while advising me to stay on the paved roads.

Mexico does have good gun control the police and army takes the guns away from the citizens and gives them to the cartel to use against the citizens or anyone that isnt on their payroll.
