About 15 years ago, I think, I was attending a conference in LA. A few of the new employees were begging to go on a tour of the stars homes. Tried to explain how it's just gates and you won't see anything and Sunset strip is a dive but I was the one on rented van insurance and knew the area a bit. My best friend went with and when we got to the playboy mansion we stopped and pushed the button at the gate. A voice came on and we asked if Hef would mind if we came up for a swim...the security guy just laughed and said probably not. He was nice and we took a bunch of pics of the girls in front of the gate.
I know it sounds preposterous, but our senior high English teacher told us that some of the best literary pieces out in that time were in Playboy and SHE advised us to read the stories, not look at the pics. How does that happen???? (well beyond trying to pick up male students) I think she was honest, in her thoughts, but dang, high school kids skipping the pics? Ain't happening.
Again, there were actual stories in playboy? How did I miss that?
Honestly, if you go back, some of the greatest writers of the times wrote articles for playboy.
I'm wondering where her thoughts really were...

Nah, She was a great teacher. We went to her house with her husband in attendance.(restored grain silo from the Marland Mansion in Ponca) One of the teachers that made an influence on my life. Great lady.I'm wondering where her thoughts really were...

"Playboy" and "National Geographic" are my favorite magazines...both of them have excellent color photographs of places I'll never get to go.
