Same thing, somebody used my card out of state a few years ago. Card comp called me and sent new card next day UPS. Good job on them...

Sonic got compromised recently. There are probably similar compromises that we haven't heard about yet.
I just wondered in order to protect myself a little more.
My assumption is hacked information is being sold on the dark web. Apparently lax security costs the data handling companies little or nothing.
Be careful in restaurants, you give the card to the waiter, he/she writes down all the info and it's a done deal. Even has the 3 digit number off the back. Had it happen in a Chinese place in BA, thankfully the bank caught it when they tried to order overseas calling cards. I went to the BA police and made a complaint with all the info, only place it could have been etc. and they did nothing.
My discover card sends me an alert every time my card is used. Wish they all did that. I will definitely be checking my other ones.
