I'm in the process of researching my next suppressor purchase.

I've talked on here about looking at the SilencerCo Hybrid because of all the things it can do - and pretty well from what I've heard.

However, I was advised by a good friend that the pistol capability is not worth the sacrifices in rifle performance. Also, the extra cost. The Hybrid set up for QD across my 4 rifles (2-5.56 ARs, 1-.300 blk AR, 1-.243 bolt action) and for the pistol (G19 for now) would cost me in the neighborhood of $1750 - including threaded barrel options for the guns that aren't.

The catch there is I'm wanting to stay closer to $1k. So that would require selling something to make up the difference.

My friend recommended the Sandman QD cans instead. Basically get a good QD rifle can and mounts then some other time get a dedicated pistol can if I want to.

I can get into a Sandman-S + 2 extra 5.56 QD brakes + $200 tax stamp for much closer to $1k. After some research, that's what I'm leaning towards.

My question for you folks here, is do you have any experience with the cans mentioned, or similar cans that I might be able to get for close to $1k.

The budget is pretty firm, but not hard. I typically get a $1,000 bonus around Thanksgiving, hence that figure as the budget. I can add a bit to it if necessary, but I'd prefer not to have to add several hundred. Let's say +$100-200 if needed.

Good reasoning. The length/weight of a rifle can on a pistol would probably disappoint you. I've been very pleased with my SiCo Omega 300, and have read good things about the DeadAir/Sandman. Their Mask-22 has been a joy on my Mark IV. When you are ready to purchase for your pistol, I would recommend looking at the shorter K series of suppressors.

I'm waiting on my OSS 7.62 Helix. It comes with one QD break and you can now get additional breaks for .223 as well. It's good for up to 300WM. After tax stamp it was $1445. Additional breaks are about $125 each. Looking forward to trying it on my 20" POF 308.

I've heard great things about the OSS suppressors, but that would be $1800+ by the time I bought three extra mounts. I'd probably go with the Hybrid before that because then I *could* use it on everything I own.

Might consider a Sico Omega. The QD feature is over rated and there’s been plenty of cans go down range from issues with various qd set ups. On the omega, direct thread end caps can be swapped out for for 1/2”, 5/8”, and 3/4” threads. Spend $800 on the can and $200 on end caps, and you’re set with the rifles.

Edit: it appears the hybrid has the same options. I believe the hybrid will come with a qd mount, sell it and buy another direct thread end cap with the money.

Look into rugged suppressors as well.
Their surge 7.62 and Obsidian. 45 are great cans for the money and can be configured full length or K if you want to keep it short.
Yes, those modular suppressors that you can switch from full to K are pretty neat. Too bad they weren't being made yet when I was in the market.

The hybrid comes with a direct thread mount.

Be careful choosing a Suppressor to fit everything.
You may be compromising your primary goal.

Some of the modulars do help reduce the issue, but having a “universal suppressor has as may cons, as pros.

Usually increased weight or length causing issues unlocking a barrel on pistol.
Longer or larger diameter to work for larger rifles than needed for .223.
Larger bore diameters - same as above.

When you start adding in extra mounts and end caps you might end up with a large portion of the cost of a suppressor you may end up buying later anyhow.
