Yes, GMM is the Matchking and I shoot 168's.
I have no idea what to expect up there. I'll probably bring two rifles at least

30-06 with soft points zeroed at 100 and the 308 with whatever I decide on from this discussion zeroed at 200. I know thats kinda backwards, but its scope related :D

It wouldnt bother me one bit to use that round then. But thats just from my experience. Thats what Ive used for over 10 years, maybe closer to 15. I just switched to 200gr ELD-X this year only because I want to shoot way on out there and kill something.

If you want a suggestion for a factory round, I have experienced great accuracy and performance with Remington Premier Accutip, 165 grain. I used it exclusively in one of my rifles until I started reloading.

Well I went to look for some ammo and ended up with some Hornady Precision Hunter thats loaded with a 178gr ELDX. Gonna see how it does tomorrow with my rifle and if its anything like I expect, will be my hunting round of choice. I really should have looked into this sooner and loaded up my own...this $2.22 a round is for the birds :|

I use the ELD-X in my 300 win mag. I've only shot paper and one pig with it though. I had no idea they were that hi when loaded ammo. I think they are around $36 a box of 100 slugs. They should perform fantastic.

Too windy for me today to zero a rifle and USSA was PACKED so will to back tomorrow with some calmer wind and see how they do. I have no doubt they will shoot great. Box of 20 was right under $45 after tax :O

Well thats swell, it grouped pretty good, figure 8's with ELDX at 100 yards...with a scope base thats sliding back and forth. Got it home and degreased everything, dab of loctite and will go back tomorrow and see if its good to go or not.

I'm glad I checked now instead of just waiting a day or two before leaving for Wisconsin...or that my buddy even noticed. I was satisfied with the group but my buddy noticed the movement when I let him shoot it. I was going to check zero again today but it appears USSA is closed on Monday...so I guess Wednesday is my day. I leave for Nebraska to hunt Pheasant on Friday and will be back and probably do some more shooting after pheasant, before deer, to get used to this new ammo. I'm doing 2" high at 100 and will see what it does at 50 and 200.
