Great guns. The 908 isnt really common, but holsters for a 3913 will work. I have a holster for a sig 239 that works perfectly for my 908 too.

Since you can buy a used Shield for $100 less; I guess I don’t see the point.

Nothing at all wrong with the Shield, but if you're in to the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd gen S/W pistols they don't really compare. If you ever get a chance to try one out you might see what I mean. The 908 was one of the value line pistols but it doesn't feel or shoot like one. That stainless one of the OPs is a gem.

Nice gun! My 908S is my primary carry piece. I like that it only has the decocker/safety on one side...unlike the 3913. Keeps the width down.

I sold my shield after I bought the 908 because it never came out of the safe. After several years of striker fired and 1911 style pistols, I really like the DA/SA of the Smiths.

Alien gear sells holsters for the 3913 and they work for every 3rd gen S&W I've tried so far (single and double stack). I have the IWB version.

Nice score! I haven't had the chance to shoot a 908 but I've shot other 3rd Gen Smiths, including g the 3913, and I like them a lot too. I'd much rather have one of these than a Shield any day. I'd see if Tim Thurner of TT Gunleather could wrap some leather around that little gem too. I could see that pistol riding in the KX Lightweight, kind of like the one I got for my Glock 43 a while back.

I've handled plenty of the old SW pistols. Heavier and no capacity advantage plus less support from the market (Parts, holsters...)

OP asked "How did I do"? I think he could do WAY better for a single stack Smith than $400 for that one.

Yep, your points are valid. Everyone has different preferences I suppose.
