I just finished "G-Man" by Stephen Hunter. It is the latest in his series on the Swagger family. Hunter knows guns, and the novels are a pleasure to read. I have read all of his novels, and highly recommend them!

I was going to suggest Stephen Hunter but looks like you dont need that suggestion. Im not sure what you mean by gun novels but if you like murder mystery type stuff look up James Lee Burke. His series with the character Dave Robicheaux, which are set up near New Orleans, or Billy Bob Holland are unbeatable books.

Monster Hunter International, guy from Glocktalk wrote em, pretty decent. For non-fiction, I liked Chris Kyle's second book. Brad Thor and Mitch Flynn have some good series also.

I've only just started the second book in the series but Joe Lansdale who does the Hap and Leonard series has been a good one so far.
