I acquired a S&W 14-6 last year at Wannenmacher (how the heck is that spelled, anyway ?).
I haven't had much time to mess with it, took it out last year for a short while, put the grips on it, then put it in the safe.

I got it out this morning, decided to shoot a few cylinders just to see what it could do. I took it out behind the barn -

12 shots, 25 feet, standing, single action. The sights are regulated to the previous owner, and he shot 158gr through it; I think he shot PPC. I imagine the 125gr I'm using are going a bit faster, resulting in the low hits.
At least I have a decent group. I intend to shoot this one more, using my cast wadcutters. Hopefully the results will reflect the practice. I'm fairly certain that I can't shoot this revolver to it's potential.

At least not yet.

Sweet wheel gun! My dad left me a S&W model 19-3 and a model 586. I've never shot them. He's been gone almost 25 years. Been thinking about taking them down to the creek and see how they feel.

Very nice. I tried to trade toward a Model 14 a few weeks ago. Someone else beat me to it. It would have been a nice compliment to my Model 15.

I have seen and shot the model 16 in 32 H&R that looked almost exactly like that. It was a sweet shooting gun too.

I've found that to be true with most handguns.

The 14-6 got lonely, so I had to get a 14-3 to keep it company.

14-3 up top, 14-6 bottom. Both wearing aftermarket stocks, the -6 has Altamonts I put on. The -3 has what it came with. Note the -6 has a full-length underlug - more weight up front. I can't decide if it helps or not.

More likely, I'll decide which I like, after SWBO decides which one she wants to shoot.:thumb:
