This is a short review..
The bolt is much smoother than the savages and Mossbergs I have but because it has rear support and more support on the sides. Yea it feels better chambering rounds.

The lower removable magazine has a spring loaded latch and it is plastic but easier to install than the Axis rifles.
My Axis and Mossbergs shoot very well and this is what I am most concerned with anyway.
So off the the range at a buddies place last night. It was dark and we used the 4 wheeler lights to slightly light up the target.

I got it on paper at 100 yards I shot 3 rounds of handloads with 155gr A-Max and 3 with 168A-Max that my savage likes it was a 3" left so I adjusted the scope.
Off to the 200 yard paper.
It seemed to like the 155gr load best 8208XBR in winchester cases.
So I grabbed 2 of those to see what happens.

Here is the 200 yard paper picture .152" center to center.. I think this Ruger may have some potential.
Yes only 2 shots back to back as quick as I could get back on target bagged at the front just in front of the action shooting off the top of my Corolla.
More testing will happen of course,, so far so good should make a dandy deer rifle.
The 200 yard target.
Edit I just thought of something looking at the picture. that is a manila envelope and gorilla duct tape.
Gorilla on manila..Yea I have not eaten much today

I had a .308 Compact for few years, but traded it for a 77 MKII in .270. The American shot well (I still have a .243 &?.22-250), but the MKII just fits my purpose (carrying on ATV) a little better. Ruger Americans are good rifles, not just good for the price. Downside: I had to request new magazines for all three I’ve owned due to failures. Customer service was outstanding. One other upside: the .22-250 has a 1 in 10 twist barrel and shoots heavier bullets (my favorite is 65 gr. Sierra GameKings) very well.

Hard to beat the game kings..My .223 has killed deer with them in 55gr and killed Hogs deer etc with the 55gr V-max all 1 shot drop on the spot kills.
I used to underestimate the .224 diameter bullets. Not anymore.
I will keep an eye on this magazine.
What was the failure point on the ones you had.
