I am needing to upgrade to a larger gun safe! Any advice is appreciated! I have looked at Liberty, Cannon, Winchester and Browning. I get it “ you get what you pay for”! But I don’t want to have to mortgage thr house for a safe, LOL
Anybody have a Cannon? If so, what are the pro and cons?
TIA

Cannon and Winchester aren't in the same class as Liberty and Browning. So basically you looked at the Liberty and Browning just long enough to realize you didn't want to spend the money.

I can never recommend anything less than a Liberty Fatboy Jr. Those can be had so cheap, if you can't justify it, then you don't need a safe. Just get a locking door knob on a closet in the house is you are trying to keep a toddler away.

I have an Amsec. I like their fire lining.

You can also go to a safe store and pick up a used safe pretty cheap. You can find something much better than those Cannon safes from a box store. I also have the safe from Fred's personal office at the old Outdoor America Store. It's where he stored the machineguns (I have most of those too). I paid $1k for it. Notice the "Fred Baker Firearms" on it.

I have a large Canon, bought it probably 15-16 years ago. It came with an electronic lock. Last Summer the lock was starting to go south like all electronic locks will eventually. I swapped it out with a S&G combo. Internal door hinge, been a good safe, no other hiccups. Wish I had another one.

I'll second the Fatboy jr recommendation. The only upgrade I paid for was the interior pockets for the safe door. I think I paid about $100 for that add on.

I've got 2 Fortress safes from Atwoods. I think they're better than the Cannon stuff you see at most big box stores. Good, solid safes. Anything is better than nothing, and I'm surprised no one has said it yet - buy the biggest you can afford.
