I just had a pretty surreal experience on this Sunday morning. I'll start from the first. I was over at my mothers recently and she asked me to take a small box home with me. The box had belonged to my late brother Rob, who passed away just over a year and a half ago. I believe the items reminded her of the loss and she couldn't bear it any longer.

This morning, me and my wife were going through the box when I noticed a small matchbox in the bottom. I opened it up and there were a few arrowheads in it. They were mostly broken pieces, but one perfect one as well. It surprised me, because even though he went out a few times hunting them, he really wasn't a collector. The perfect point is a Spavinaw Creek Dart Point, which were made by the terminal Hopewell people 1400-1600 years ago. I recognized it instantly, because I am the person who named and defined this type in the Central States Archaeological Journal some years ago. They are somewhat rare and my favorite type to collect. Out of all of the types and out of all of the places to find it...this blows me away.

That is an amazing find! Not because of what you found, but because this is something I am sure you will treasure for a long time from your brother!
