Well it seems you are never done with an AR. This is the 223 I changed to a Grendel a few weeks back. I just put on a different handguard and lapped the upper receiver while I had it apart. I should have bedded the barrel but this isnt the upper the barrel is going to be with for now on so I didnt do it. Still have to strip the paint off the stock, swapped for it and my buddy had already painted it, and this is only a temporary lower but hey, itll shoot, kinda.

Built this 6.5 Grendel about a year ago on a Ruger lower, barrel is 18" stainless fluted from Midway USA and came with the BCG that matched barrel. Do not remember who made it. The scope is 6-24 that I had laying around. It's fun to shoot. Get's expensive around here when Grandson comes to visit, he likes to shoot all the guns. Gathering parts a little at a time to build him a AR together.

nice gun man although i prefer rifle stocks to carbine stocks especially on distance guns. great caliber. I was about to pull the trigger on an AR10 and a forum member talked me into the Grendel. One of my big hang-ups on the 10 was the proprietary BS between different companies so the biggest selling point for me was the ability to retain most of the regular AR15 parts. I had hell at first with FTE even after I put an adjustable gas block on but recently added an o-ring to the extractor spring and all of my woes have been cured.

I have rang steel at 1,000yd (something I never thought I would do) and the steel at fouled bore 500 yd and nearer is child's play. Best part about it is instead of racking a bolt all I have to do is squeeze the trigger again.

here is mine. Nothing too fancy Red X upper that came with a ton of hornady ammo I traded Some AK stuff for. I added the Luth-ar stock to a lower I already had and away I went. On a side note...I love the way the Luth stock looks but I really don't think it is worth the money at least for me. My next Grendel will be getting a plain a2 rifle stock or magpul MOE.
