So a friend was told if he got caught carry an OTF again he would be arrested. That caused me to look up the law for him to show him that is legal to carry it. That caused me to notice that bowie, cane swords, dirk and daggers are still illegal. I could have sworn those along with any auto knife was now legal to carry. Please help me understand why the law is not changed on OSCN.NET.

I can't find it. But I bet @Dave70968 could supply the answer and link to the current statue.
It's in the link I posted...

"SB 1159 removes dagger, bowie knife, dirk knife and sword cane from the items prohibited from carry in Oklahoma, and finishes the job Knife Rights began last year with the repeal of the ban on carrying switchblade (automatic) knives and with the passage of Knife Law Preemption in Oklahoma."

I was looking for the link to the official OK.Gov statue site. External sites are often outdated and have been known to be erroneous.

@Backstrap found it. Thanx!!

When i looked it up last night it still showed bowie knives etc... Still unlawful to carry. I told my friend he has 2 choices resist anlawful arrest, or let them arrest him and sue.

I have had similar run-ins over the taillights on my truck. While they are 100% legal, some departments think they are not. I have a copy of the appropriate statute with me and I VERY POLITELY let them know that I have researched the issue and that I have found the applicable statue and ask if I may show them a copy. I say nothing else and just let them read for themselves. Problem solved every time so far. (Only once did the officer get huffy, although he still had to agree they are legal. Every other officer apologized and I went on my way)

NOTE: This is my experience, it is not advice and your mileage may vary.
