That's really cool. I don't think I've seen one in person.View attachment 118817 The elusive model 50. It's a 36 with target sights
Not meaning to insult to Glock or 1911 folks, but there really is something special about older S&W revolvers. Thank you all for sharing these pics.
I bought this nickel S&W Model 36-1 with a 3" barrel a year or so ago. Gun came in the original box with all the factory paperwork and probably the original receipt: $196.95. Owner had even taken and left an old 3.5" x 4.25" picture of the gun in the box with the gun info written on the back of the pic. Looks to be around 1977 production. Only thing missing was the original oiled wrap paper and cleaning tool. Original buyer took and left the tool out so as not to scratch the gun up and it and wrap got misplaced somehow.
Seller to me said he got it from the elderly original owner, whom he knew. Seller said original buyer fired one cylinder of bullets (5 rounds) so he would feel comfortable shooting it before he put it away in case he ever needed to use it for self-defense at his house...the old Bought, Shot, and Stored gun. It is in beautiful condition with a very light turn ring and really nice nickel finish.
