I'll add this. If you're considering buying a Hustler from Great Plains go down the road to Mike's in Harrah. GP tried to sell me something different than what I ordered. The folks at Mike's are just good people trying to make a living.

Sell out and move someplace where there is little yardwork. In another twenty years you won't want to mow 2-3 acres-admit it, you don't enjoy mowing that much anyway!

Been mowing 2.5 acres for 21 years. Tired of keeping the place up. With that being said, 2006 Exmark 48 inch with Koehler 24 hp. Never been in the shop except for basic maintenance. All other yard equipment is Stihl. Excellent luck with Stihl.

Downsizing and simplifying in my retirement years. Also so the kids will not have to deal with it down the road.

You, me too. I'm tired of mowing, painting, repairing etc, the wife and I are thinking of a condo but even if you pay cash, it's never paid off with HOA dues monthly. Like the old song, "I gotta get outta this place if it's the last thing I ever do." RVN

I got a new mower, his name is Mike and he charges $25 to do it... I figure I can pay him many times before it exceeds the cost of my own lawn equipment, a shed to store it in, maintenance, etc... and I don't break a sweat. lol
With that said, it's a huge adjustment moving from my 8 acres to a city lot but my health dictated that was the best thing.
By the way, that Spartan that @farmerbyron posted in one choice looking machine and I would have to look hard at that.

I'm with Chenry on this whole mowing gig...but my mowers name is Louis. He charges $35 but I give him $40 and he always does a really good job. I hate lawn work. I wish I lived in an apartment. A nice big apartment with a great big pool, so I could sit in air conditioned comfort and watch the hot chicks lounge around while you saps are sweating and mowing your yards.

You wouldn't be so lucky. Your "hot chicks" would be elderly, overweight women that were out there "sunning" themselves so they could look at the lifeguard.

I don't have a "mower," nor do I own a mower as I don't even have a yard to mow. At least not since 2014 when we retired and started traveling. Our "back yard" is a view wherever I want to park the fifth wheel and look out the window. Previously Colorado and Oregon and now in Utah.

Wow, thanks for sharing.

But I gotta admit that "elderly overweight women" tend to look younger because all the wrinkles are filled/poofed out... :D

I noticed in our latest trip to Utah, New Mexico, and Colorado that most didn't need a lawn mower with a yard that consisted of mainly rocks. Natural or imported.
