I wanted to post this.
I ordered a Ruger LCP when PSA had the special for $169. That is the great part, now the bad news. I finally got to the range and figured out I bought a single shot pistol.

I took 100 rounds of Fiocchi 95 grain FMJ and struggled to get through 50 rounds. For every round fired there was a failure to extract. Not just once but every round.

I have contacted Ruger and did a through inspection of my pistol and here is what I found.

Where the locking pin contacts the barrel block the front left is peened downward. I can only assume this is impeding unlocking the slide upon the firing of the pistol causing the malfunctions. I would post a picture but as the parts are so small I am not sure my phone would show the damage area.

I just wanted everyone to know if they are having problems to look at this area.

I will say this is the only LCP out of 5 or 6 that I have owned that has ever caused a problem.

Try a box of a diff brand ( rem, Win, federal) ammo first.. some small .380's are more ammo sensitive thsn others, and theres quite a bit of variance in foreign stuff

Damn, can see the lip there is bent. Almost like when it was assembled at the factory some idjit used a ball peen to force the takedown pin through. They should be able to send you a new barrel unless they want the whole gun back. I would be interested in knowing how they handle it as well. I have an EC9s and would like to know they will take care of it if it shows a defect.

After seeing the pics, I'd skip any more ammo tests and just get the thing back to Ruger. Ruger is well known for exceptional customer service; I betcha they will take care of it quickly. Please keep us posted on the outcome Jim.
