A friend of mine and I had a table one year. It was a lot of fun and being able to get in Friday night was worth it. One odd thing though - a guy was wanting to buy a pistol I had, but made a point of telling me he was from Florida. I declined to sell it to him and explained it wasn't legal for me to do so. I got the feeling I was being tested.

Be sure to be there as early as possible Friday morning. All day Friday dealers and anyone with a table can deal amongst themselves without the public bothering you. Also a GREAT time to look around. Id definitely not miss Friday. My first time with the table I had a rack of 21 mosins and 4 Swedish mausers and one guy bought them and the rack! I was out of there and home by 330. Big money changes hands during the Friday sales.

Definitely a venue with huge physical traffic. Only option with more traffic would be an online auction. I'd advise securing small valuable items either under glass or via cable.

I've seen police at Wannemacher taking stolen gun reports several times. You have to consider anyone coming to your table as both a potential buyer as well as a possible thief. Always be alert for a thief while showing the buyers courtesy. The theft is typically during the show public hours and of small sized, higher value items that could be palmed. I've seen video of an individual later identified as a thief coming by and stopping at my table.

Numerous times I've had ineligible buyers try to get me to sell to them. "I buy this way all the time." "I left my license in the truck." No sale!

I do appreciate all the feedback.

It looks like we are "planning" on two tables for about 20 long guns...ranging anywhere from $1k-8k ea.

@mouthpiece I may take you up on that offer. I have one that holds 6 so the pair may work as "end caps" to the tables....and we can spread some stuff out on the tables.

@surjimmy was helpful today also and I believe my grandpa will be in contact with him tomorrow for some further info/assistance.

If November goes well, we may offer some up locally and/or try again with a different assortment in April.

Tie your guns down.........At least with a rope if nothing else. Thieves are very smart these days and can/will steal right from under your nose. Ask me how I know......

Regarding the sweet spot for price, its all over the board at this show. I've seen tens of thousands shelled out in cash for a gun in a matter of minutes. (and there was plenty more in that backpack)........ I'm set up right across from Champlin Arms --------and there are some high dollar deals that go down....... I think tables are now costing around $170--$175----so based upon your comments I'm thinking you would be fine with two tables. But, you better call now to get something reserved, or you'll be out of luck.

Looking more and more like systems go. We reserved 2 tables today so we are getting pretty well locked in.
He's had a bit more luck looking up comparable stuff so figuring out values is getting a bit better (mind you- he's been out of the hobby for probably 20 years).

Two examples that are pretty close:

His is unfired, NIB
But this is the same gun otherwise

His is "as new" without box
Same gun otherwise

IF he comes up with a list, I'll post up a "preview" here if yall want. Maybe if there's a market on the page, let yall get some dibs in the privacy of a home setting instead of the rush of the show.
