I also sent the guy on bladeforum an email asking about his tanto blade project, and what they charged for the blade back then.

"I ordered tanto blades originally but he said it was too difficult to duplicate the grinds and bevels so he sent me the two regular recurve blades instead.
I was really bummed out because it sounded like he was too busy to make my dream knife.
So, I customized the handles and gave them away.
I cannot remember what he charged me at the time, sorry for so little info.
If you really want a tanto damascus you can shop around. There are lots of knife makers just getting started who need the experience and won't overcharge you like the big names.
And don't think that you can't do it yourself, it is always better if you can make it yourself."

My EDC knife is a Boker Damascus folder.
Couple of my knives, but the little Quest w/Damascus makes a pretty blade.
