drop by some time and we'll stoke a stogie or 2

met new oncologist, the other one was a fat, greasy, unkempt person who just didn't inspire confidence. he's been replaced by a drop dead gorgeous young lady, i splained my attitude about my condition, she splained what they like to do...i told her no. told her i was gonna start drinking beer again and living out my days the way i choose. she got the head of the department, he introduced himself, i asked if he knew Doctor H,,,he was astounded i knew Doctor H, Doc H trained this guy, I already knew that because i had the run down from Doc H. i've repaired some firearms for Doc H and he's told me to contact him if i need anything.

another ct scan with contrast (last was july 28) and they will start me on the new med that has fewer side effects, i.e. the skin on your hands doesn't fall off LOL

They’re a pretty cool company. The owner was neighbors with hunter s Thompson and he introduced them to the artist for his books.

This afternoon I find out from the VA if they will put me on the oral chemo which is my only option. The side effects are supposed to be various rashes on my arms, not a game stopper.

Regardless their decision I have made my decision about how this is gonna happen. 6 years ago I stopped drinking beer (I love beer, beer loves me) in order to be treated for service connected Hep C. I'm going to start doing all/most of the things I gave up again. Did I mention I love beer? Beer will become my "soup of the day". I wish it rained beer.

I have a PHD in bunker building earned in the Republic of Vietnam, I will put that knowledge to use by constructing a bunker made of coolers. This will become the last stand position for Max and I. If you breach this mighty wall of coolers be prepared to hear, "I am Inigo Montoya, prepare to die."
Sorry buddy. Do what you want and enjoy life. You want to drink beer then do so. If you want to walk around the neighborhood naked then........well don't do that!
Like it or not, I'm praying for you and thanking you for your service.

What’s your favorite beer?
Your timing is about right with 3.2 on its way out.
Some day I will tell the grandkids, back in my day we had 3.2 beer and had to walk to school uphill both ways etc.

...in the snow. Barefoot.

I'm glad to see @lasher has a solid plan. Drink beer, smoke cigars, and do WTH you want to do.

I wish you the best even thought you're going to the VA, I used to defend them when I worked there but after I retired and went back as a patient I found out that they don't treat the patients as well as I did so I don't promote them as I used to.... Meanwhile, I have renal failure due to years of hypertension and as old as I am they aren't going to install any new kidneys. So, I've lived somewhat of a long life, had it's ups and downs, made a lot of mistakes, been forgiven, but I'm still here for awhile. I don't mind dying, I just don't want to be gone that long.
