ahhhh, a scheme hath hatched. list something ultra rare at a below fair price, offer layaway, let 100's if not 1000's lay it away. go on the lamb knowing you laid them out

Speaking of things the "lamb" might not appreciate....

Many years ago, when my son was much younger, there was a character on Sesame Street, a little lamb, named Ovajita. I recall commenting at the time on the wisdom of giving such a tasty little meat-critter a name that sounds so much like "fajita." :spaghetti:

i posted my magnetospeed chrono here last week, and at another forum. no interest here even tho i priced it 50 bucks off new because it had made 3 range trips. a fellow at the other forum wanted to trade some 38 super ammo for it, i was in favor of that type trade, he offered 4 boxes of ammo for an object i priced for 130 bucks, he thought it a good fair deal. i sent him the link to SGA showing he was offering me $80 in ammo for a $130 object, and told him i could not make that trade, he countered with he bought the ammo during the ammo scare a few years back and likely paid too much for it, and he up'd his offer to 6 boxes. that was closer so i did the deal. maybe i snarked a teensy bit
If the response makes a ligitimate point, you have a right to "snark" a little. My problem is when you have a $500 item, and you know it's a $500 item based on research, such as going multiple websites for pricing on 15-20 guns of the same make/model, and 90% of them are being offered for minimal $500, but most above $500, and the guy tells you he can buy that same gun all day for $350......I once had a guy give me a line that a rifle I was selling was valued at $600 and not the $900 I was asking because he had bought one for $600. Said he wanted the same for his dad. I responded and offered him $800 cash for his rifle. He came back and declined, but also fessed up that the reason he got his so cheap is it was a good friend of his that sold it to him at a big discount. We made a deal for $850.
