Darn it I'm thinking about the Ruger Precision 6.5 creedmoor Gen 3

I've really got the Ruger American predator dialed in but....yeah there's always a but! #Stellfingers is nuts
I've put a ton of cash in getting the predator solid but I've seen a couple of Gen 3 precisions at a good price. Doing the research now and will have to sell the Predator to do it, but I'm really considering it. Damn near impossible to get an honest review on the difference of the two guns, especially with the new trigger, Lss chassis and stock I've added. Thinking is not a good move for me, but here I am thinking about it Ha.
They are heavy as heck, but that fold over stock and the buzzers and whistles, have given me the itch.
Going to go shoot a bunch of rounds through Hello Steve's to get a better picture of it's performance. I've shot them (Prec) but not put any work in to test the quirks and abilities of it.
Anyone got any thoughts other than having me committed?

Bought one, sold one. If you are staying with the 6.5CM, I simply would put the time in behind the rifle to maximise your abilities, learn and work your D.O.P.E. Master the Ballistic Calculator and shoot out past 600m or so to put it all into play. Reading the wind, flags, environmental considerations, and yes even the coriolis effect. Once you feel you have mastered 600m and out then maybe look into a different rifle. Lots of folks shoot lights out at 300m and less, many at 500m as well, but the long range game really is from about 600m and further. The skills needed to be mastered will be with either rifle if you put in the time and effort, the difference may be a Ruger today or a Surgeon some time down the road.
My mentor taught me to learn and progress on the same rifle until it is time to replace the barrel, then make the decision as to purchase a new rig or not. I still have the same rifle, but it is on it's third barrel. Extreme for the 6.5CM maybe, but my 300 Win Mag starts to lose ground at about 1200 rounds. Either way, we need to get out and do some distance shooting. Good luck my friend.

I read about it here.
http://www.snipercentral.com/ruger-precision-rifle-full-review-2/

3 shot groups were used. That makes many guns look good.
The 3 shots at 300 yards was not impressive to me but that is store ammo not reloads.
For the price I would want much better accuracy.. maybe the medium weight barrel needs to become a heavy weight barrel.
Maybe the 3 shot groups need to be 5 or 10 shot to see what the barrel is really capable of.
Yes let it cool between shots a bit.
I want to see if the chassis stays put and see if the carbon build up in the muzzle brake makes it shoot worse after many shots.

I am out as it seems to not group any better than any other rifle and for me that is the bottom line . Accuracy.

To me the Ruger RPR feels like a steel erector set matted together to form a rifle. But I like the traditional stocked rifle for precision shooting. If your heart is set on a chassis system I believe the Tikka T3X Tac A1 to be a better buy even though its more money.

Agreed, accuracy and consistency drives my wallet.
That's my I waverying on it. Haven't had enough time behind the trigger to compare the difference from the Predator I'm put so much time and money in. The Predator performs great. I've shot the ruger and did well but not enough to have an opinion. It was a tack driver at 200 but so is my predator. I'd need to put a hundred rounds through side by side with my predator moving out in distance. I think at 800 yds I'd know going on paper and a fixed rest.
I'm nuts.

You are not nuts at all and you need to take it a couple steps farther in your comparison.
Shoot them both when it is very hot and very cold and see which one holds zero or holds a tighter pattern better and go with that one.
My savage 10FP heavy barrel 308 had a sweet spot at 85-95 degree barrel temp, 105 was ok at 110 the groups began to open up and 115 forget it ..the barrel needed to cool.
This was checked at 300 yards.
POI stayed the same it was the groups opening up a bit that I was concerned with.
