I like the blue ones, but I’m always afraid if I get too aggressive with cleaning them I’ll ruin the finish.

It will. Use a good CLP and a soft toothbrush or cloth on blued guns, except for the innards where a q-tip or patch dipped in hopes #9 can wipe away the crud. Avoid harsh chemicals, I know this because....uh, well a friend I know squirted his really pretty blued old ppk with some once and it got all spotty looking and his wife told him he was a doofus and that it stunk when he did it in the kitchen and how she had told him a thousand times to take that crap outside or the garage but he was stupid and got caught and she got on his butt about it and his gun was still all spotted looking. So now he just uses CLP and goes outside or to the garage except when she isn’t home and he can get away with doing it on the sofa while watching old Gomer Pyle reruns and stuff.

I like stainless for carry, but yes... blued is about as pretty as it gets.
