I would have posted this in general discussion instead of stupid stuff.
The love dogs have for their owners is not stupid stuff.
I'm not bashing you at all. Please don't think I am. This post just got me remembering.
We had to put down our best friend a couple weeks ago and we have still not got over it. Heart issues and a growth in the lungs that prevented breathing that got bad.
I spent more time with him than I did my wife for a few years while training and hunting him in the field.
He loved riding in the vehicle or on the ATV.
The vet agreed to come to the house for his final day. Wife and I held and talked to him while he got a sedative, then calmed him more as the drugs ran through his body with his eyes finally looking at me and going closed. Gut wrenching moment I'm still not over. Wanted to put it off, but realized I needed to end it for him, and not prolong it for me while he suffered.
His little buddy misses him too. Shitzu(Baur) was a follower. When he goes outside to pee, he is always looking around for his big buddy.
Both dogs have gone in the vehicle and RV with us all over the country for years.
You can't get a better friend than a dog.
Here he is on his last atv ride.

And his last hunt that morning. He made a hundred yards. I had to carry him back to the truck.

I too didn't know whether to post it here or in the General Discussion forum. I wish I would have posted it in the General Discussion forum after reading your post. Had I posted it there, I had intended to somehow work "man's best friend" into the title or opening paragraph.

I want a dog and I don't have one. They are the best of people! I sure miss my dog! Maybe one day, they are so special and the older I get he more sentimental I get about them. I would appreciate if if you guys didn't post any more topics about dogs, I can't read them with my eyes tearing.
