Landlocked property can usually be settled through Unity of Title or Easement by Necessity. Either way, someone made the conscience decision to sell that land and you will not need a helicopter to get to it...lol
I was told by an attorney that it is not legal to sell landlocked land in Oklahoma; there has to be an access easement somewhere. They do not have to allow you on their land to get to yours.
My brother's father-in-law would second that. When he was looking at buying some land around Durant, his wife made him talk to the sheriff about one of the places they were considering. You might also consider checking with the Sheriff's department down there. While I don't know anything about that area, I do know that there are certain parts of SE Oklahoma where a Sheriff is hesitant to send deputies into certain areas during certain times of the year.
Is it really that bad? I’ve been down in some of those areas with cheap land and there’s nothing and no one out there as far as I can tell. Maybe it’s different closer to small towns.
