snipped...you can’t take a junk milspec trigger and modify it to make it perform like a quality custom engineered trigger designed to be what it is.
You can improve the milspec trigger but that’s about it. It will never be a precision trigger.
Truth.

I've done the setscrew, polish, hammer chop, JP Spring job and even have one build with all that AND it's nickel boron coated. While it's a definite improvement and quite "usable" they just don't compare.

I know one guy that tuned a milspec trigger and then threw in some JP springs and it was light years ahead of anything ALG could've done.

At the end of the day, LaRue is the best deal for an amazing trigger. They are equally as good as the G triggers for more than half the price. I also like the wider trigger face and the angle of it. Those two things and the price had me sold over all my G's, hence the reason they're all gone. I think I own 5-6 MBT's.

Has anyone tried the Rise Armament Super Sport RA140?

Seen a few double strikes from Rise triggers at Run & Guns. Was pretty eventful seeing a guy prone dumping 2 rounds at a time & freaking out while doing it. Light single stage with a short reset isn't always the best option.

It wasn't a true double, but with the short reset, recoil was causing a second trigger pull

Gotta cut that hook off the hammer too.

I think that's what he meant by "hammer chop."

I've done the same. Hammer bob, grip screw trigger adjuster, JP/KVP springs, all done on an ALG QMS trigger. Night and day difference between a cheap mil-spec trigger, but you're looking at $60+ minimum on that (I think I'm at $70 something). Based on the reviews here in this thread, the LaRue MBT is well worth the $25 extra. I have one on the way now to compare.

If you're not wanting to spend $87 on the trigger alone, then the CMMG trigger is the best "normal" priced LPK trigger I've felt. Close to the QMS in feel. You can get the CMMG LPK for $55 pretty regularly.

Then run over the Joe Bobs and grab a KVP spring and trigger adjuster for $20.

You won't be disappointed in the build quality. These are the same triggers he's been putting in his rifles for a long time and they used to sell for $199.
