Those only support the front of the rifle. They work well for their purpose, but your trunk or hood will provide a better, more stable rest with a bag or jacket under the stock.
Don't try shooting from the hood with a muzzleloader......trust me on this....

Thank you Dennis, Sincerely.. Now, I am an educated donkey so I have to say LOL, really it only supports the fore end ? I use a bag but it's pivotability and lower height has me wanting something more and I really don't cherish the thought of having a bipod on a take down 22.. I guess when $$ permits I'll snag one.. If or when I get it I'll report back if it's the cats meow..

I have never used a short one like that. But I use the three legged adjustable one a lot. It’s adjustable from standing height to too short for me sitting. I have killed a pile of fur and several deer and elk with them. For what your wanting a bipod might work better. The taller Verdi’s so versatile that I have three one in every vehicle and a spare. I still use Harris on several rifles to be more adaptable.

Tactical udder bag. Put it on a fence, put it on a fence post, lay it over a door, lay it on a window sill, plop it down on the trunk, the roof, or the hood. Lets you build good support in literally any shooting position.

Tripods are nice, more so with something like hog saddle or ARCA rail; bags are great, as are mounted bipods. Sticks are good for going innawoods and keeping weight down.
