We had a grizzled SM come to one of our training courses and we were warned to not forget the last part of her rank. We watched her smoke an upperclassman (this happened during West Point's version of basic called Beast Barracks) for just calling her sargeant. We silently cheered her on. She was cool as hell but definitely old school.

Were you a cadet or "real" Army at West Point?

Maybe he got smoked because he called her "sargeant" instead of "sergeant?"

I was a cadet, made it two years but had academic issues my 2nd year and was released due to that. I would have gone enlisted but I blew my knee out at the end of my 1st semester freshman year and had not recovered enough to pass my last two PT tests. I was never a strong runner to begin with, but after my knee surgery I failed my next PT test run time by 20 seconds, and the last one by 10 seconds. If I knew then what I know now I would have never taken up gymnastics as a kid and done something different like baseball or wrestling (was pretty good at both). It is what it is.

What if a senior NCO touched a junior ranking person's laptop computer? That would be a cause for Courts Martial for sure. This is getting to be a sissy military since what's his name was in office.
