Actually read about some folks doing that on their pistols. Have you done this and if so did it last ?
No sir. I was honestly just being a smartass but I suppose it'd work. I've never used jb weld at all so I don't know what it's like to work with or what filing, grinding or bonding characteristics it has.

It's basically a two-part epoxy glue with steel powder in it for strength (like the aggregate in concrete). Adhesion is good if the surface is roughed a bit (coarse sandpaper, etc.).

It works well for a lotta stuff, but I wouldn't trust it piled up on a front sight.

Just my two cents. :drunk2:

The JB weld trick works. Let it dry and work down with some mini files from harbor freight. It won’t take much and you can build it up if needed

Back in the day we used JB Weld to install valve guides in cylinder heads. They were a light press fit but they were installed cold and the boss swore up and down that the iron head would expand at temp and let it go. Don't know that the guide wouldn't expand too, but we never had one come back whatever the reason. JB is pretty tough stuff. If you can TIG weld, I'd do that. But you may get by with the JB if the sight is prepped right.

Got back to the range this morning with some 125 gr boooolits, They were shooting and inch high at 20 yards .Ok so I was good with that . BUT, Had the wifes 38 with me and was running the 158LSWCHP in her gun and just threw a few in my Taurus and low and behold it was shooting an inch high at 20 yards>.... So I have put a spring kit in the pistol to help with the pig of a DA trigger and it helped a lot and while I was waiting I have been studying up on proper hold on a revolver and practicing the DA trigger with snap caps.
Also I received a Tyler Talon(?) . And I guess now I have to say while I have no issue with hand strength I do have a lot more revolver practice I need................. So Dang I need to go shoot more!!:w000t::mosh::rubhands::cool:

PS I assume that because my wifes 38 has a larger grip I was able to shoot it way better than I was my Taurus with the show grips.

Grant Cunningham is also good with revolvers. In fact, my brother took his course in AZ a couple of months or so ago. I have two of his books on wheelguns and while I don't agree with everything he says, I did gain some very valuable insights into self-defense from his books.

7MM Mauser no scope mount I JB welded a mount onto one I had and it held for a couple years that I used it and then I sold it and it was still holding tight.
But you can wear down JB weld as a thin front sight if you pull it in and out of a holster and you could break it off.
I have some in the intake runners of some cast iron heads and it has not let go even the slightest.

I use it all the time.
I just used some JB quick to fill holes on some wood I will be painting.
Do not use more weld than hardener as it is 2 part mix. try to keep it 50/50 if you use 70-30 weld/hardener it may not set up.

JB quick is for light stuff and not as tolerant to heat.
Do not confuse them.
JB also had Plastic weld that is very good stuff.
I had a Makita die grinder break in 1/2 and it fixed it.
JB weld was too brittle and did not take the vibration of the grinder for more than 8 hours and i got a crack in the area it was broken.
So Far the JB Plastic has held up for over 20 hours and not any issues.
