I agree 100%. It is rare I get pulled over but when I do or when I come up on a DUI checkpoint I hand them my CCW License on top of my DL.

It also depends on the contact. You are required to notify if you are arrested, detained, or pulled over on a traffic stop.
I had the law at my house last weekend. When I answered the door to speak to him I didnt say anything but he asked to come in and I said "I must inform you I have a sidearm on" and his reply "thats fine, its your house".
Good move. Not interested in what the circumstances were, but I would think that would be one more little thing he could check off his mental list like you were friendly enough to be coroperative to invite him and to make him aware you were an up front person trying to help out, even with minor things.
