Yeah, I was interested in some real numbers or direct knowledge from a grower, know what I mean? That green expo at the fairgrounds was really a pay-to-attend sales pitch type event put in by the folks that supply all the growers, processors, and dispensaries. They benefit from everyone they can get into the market, initially. It’s in their best interest to paint a rosy picture right now.

In terms of gathering info prior to investing a ton of $$, its information but not necessarily unbiased info.
I understand, I just think the industry is so new and exploding so fast that hard numbers would be tough to come by. From what I can gather after talking to a few people, it’s a jump in fast and take your chances. Not the kind of gambles I like to take. That’s why I’m looking at the backside of it. There has to be a niche to make some money.

A 34 year-old, not working, with a pile of money and a sharp mind can find many entrepreneurial opportunities that would provide far fewer legal hurdles. Think long and hard, do a good bit of research before you make a decision, of any kind.

And, bubba on the street corner selling the imported stuff will undercut your price. I've posted links recently from commifornika and Colorado when exactly that has cut the profits of the legal growers and reduced the expected tax revenues of the state drastically.
Where do you think "bubba" gets his product? I know.

The Profitability of Medical Cannabis

Going back to the profitability of medical cannabis, those in the know say that a retail dispensary of medical marijuana can rake in about $3500 to $5000 per square foot, while profit margins can range anywhere from 30% to 45%. To put this in context consider the fact that big brands like Tiffany &Co typically make $4 221 per square foot.

In places like California in the US, for example, medical cannabis sales are projected to reach $23 bn by the year 2030, while most medical cannabis suppliers in the state are reportedly either breaking even or fully profitable, either way they are financially thriving.

However, the biggest money-spinners seem to be concentrates, infused products and cultivation, with the latter often seeing profitability within the very first harvest. Research also shows that about 91% of companies that manufacture cannabis-infused products are able to reach break-even status within the first year, which is due in part, to the low start-up costs associated with infused businesses, when compared with the high capital requirements of a retailer or cultivator, for example. This makes it easier for the former to turn a profit, and proves that the medical cannabis business is only set to soar from here, and whoever gets a foothold in the industry within these early stages, will have the opportunity to win big -time.

Sure; it’s an easy scam, for the purveyor, not for the chumps. See; you gotta flavor it; bubblegum and strawberry and cotton candy and stuff so you can get ‘em hooked young and then once you got ‘em addicted, you increase the price and they have to turn to a life of crime to buy your dope.

They call it dope for a reason.

Esplain this "addiction" Lucy?

I mean 70,000 folks died from legal, TV advertised, Big Phama pain killers last year - more than died on the highways in the US.
How many died from Cannabis?
And I bet a donut to a dog turd you don't know where the term dope came from...and you hold the stakes in your mouth.
