A 34 year-old, not working, with a pile of money and a sharp mind can find many entrepreneurial opportunities that would provide far fewer legal hurdles. Think long and hard, do a good bit of research before you make a decision, of any kind.
I think he should start up a nice new outdoor gun range somewhere near Shawnee.

Im 34 years old, I don't work, and I have a good amount of cash sitting around doing nothing and I know that emerging markets are the best way to generate big money. I love weed and have always been interested in growing it and really think I would enjoy the whole process. I am just now starting my research as to if this is a good investment for my time and money or not. I know some of you on here are knowledgeable about these things ( @CHenry ) and would like to get some discussion going on the subject. Please please please try your best to keep this from turning into a debate as to whether weed should be legal or not, there are other threads for that. This is a thread to discuss the business side of medical marijuana only.

thanks.

I was told this week that there are 1600 registered growers in the state.

I think the ‘designers’ or engineers stand to be the ones whom may make bank. If you can come out with a strain that smells better, lasts longer, tastes like strawberries or whatever is going to be in demand.
That and the store front locations that are comfortable, clean and nice or just so something different. Those that are in rat holes or crappy storefronts probably won’t do as well, depending on the market.

So there's a lot of merit to this. Think operations in a large warehouse housing shipping containers as grow sites for security and fire containment.

If you think MJ is the future why not just dump some cash into Aurora, Canopy or the MJ ETF and just soak up dividends in a tax advantaged account? It's still a federally illegal substance, and is for the most part a cash business only.

You're also wildly behind the curve; the market is pretty heavily saturated with both dispensaries and suppliers though with expanding markets maybe a grow-op that services out of state options is worth exploring.

On top of that, if you're a sole proprietorship and passing through the income to yourself I'd bet the Feds would then agree you are also in possession of a federally controlled substance and therefore a prohibited person.

I'm glad to see MJ/MMJ expanding, it's a great source of untapped revenue for the state and offers a lot of benefits to people without the same horrific results of opiates. But it's going to take several lawsuits and challenges to set precedents to establish clean lines of what is and isn't kosher.

Please post this negative filth in a thread other than this one. we have been having a great discussion about the topic up to this point.

There was nothing filthy in my post; it was however, heavily overplayed with sarcasm. I was playing it light; and you and Chenry somehow get butt hurt over it? C’mon man.

Hey, I know! Since this is a Gun Forum, why don’t you drag it on over to a Dope Forum instead? Probably gonna find a whole lot more info on your topic there rather than in a forum like this. Many, if not most of the older, more seasoned folks here could care less about pot. If it becomes recreational that’s fine too. And I hope you make a ton of money in your endeavors. But really fellas, lighten up a bit would ya?

I’ll just slide outa this thread now, I guess I thought this was a gun forum and not a dope forum. Since my attempt at sarcasm wasn’t well received, I’ll leave you bigshots to your financial planning.
