If the Oak trees are huge it took many, many years for them to grow. I personally like shade and to have shade one needs trees. I'd have to think hard ab our cutting down a mature Oak tree. Maple, Elm or the like goes but the Oak remains!

We did the home inspection yesterday. Turns out I'm gonna have to get one of the limbs cut off because it's scraping against the roof shingles and damaged a few of them.

If you go to a nursery, you can ask them to order you some “Orchard Grass” it is not stocked anywhere close that I know of. My grandad worked for about 8 or 10 years to get grass to grow under his shade trees. Everything he tried failed miserably. He bought a bag, 5 or 10lbs I think, he planted it under those 2 trees and watered it for about a month. I can still drive by that house and that grass is still beautiful under those trees. He planted it in about 1983 or 84, he passed away in 1993. Those trees and that grass are still going.

Side bar... There's a legit Jacobsen powered reel mower for sale on Facebook Marketplace in Lawton for under $100. If my yard were flat, I'd snatch that bad boy up.
I have a briggs cast iron engine from one of the old reel mowers in my shop. Used to run good, but started smoking so I took it off and threw the mower body away as it was worn out. Was going to rebuild it, but just never took the time to do it.
