I attended the Wanenmacher's Tulsa Gun Show for my first time ever today.

Up at 530am and, after doing some stuff around here, headed that way and got there around 830.

When I got to the EXPO parking lots were pretty full with vehicles and had to park quite a ways out.

Didn't see aisle markers so had to find a landmark so I wouldn't forget where I was parked.

After walk to the EXPO got right in as $10 exact change only tickets were being sold by roving ticket people from EXPO.

Saw and visited with harley128, surjimmy, and Dan308 at their tables. Couldn't ask for nicer or more helpful people.

So much stuff to look at! Wasn't as hard to get around with the crowds as may have thought it might have been based on horror stories I had heard. Since I was looking mainly for old revolvers was able to skip past the long guns and newer pistols.

Had a Hi Standard revolver with me I was looking to find out some information on regarding double action issue with it. The exhibitors who looked at it were very helpful and gave me good advice and information.

Walked around until later in the afternoon and left the building. When I left people had blocked off some of the packed parking lots and parking aisles by parking on the ends. The driver of a blocked-in vehicle was pretty mad and I can't blame him. Glad I could find my car and get out.

I did spend some money while I was there...$3.50 for a bottle of water.

I am glad I went and may go again someday, but don't expect I will be attending every year. Hope some more folks give their impressions of the show. Also would like to hear from our OSA exhibitors and hope they all did well.

I took a M1 Garand to sell - a “Gap Letter” International Harvester. The price was very good - in fact, lower than any other comparable IHC Garand I saw at the show. Several people asked to see it, and their answers were all the same:

“Dang, good price! Wish I had the money...”

Brought it home. But my gf and I had fun, and she admitted she was glad I still had the rifle. She likes it.

I've met you and your girlfriend. I submit that if she likes the rifle, get her another just like it. And does she have a sister? if so I call 1st dibs. LOL, you lucky rascal, a drop dead gorgeous woman who likes the same things you do. This is intended as a compliment.

I was with sweetyface and couldn't see but 70% of the tables. If you want 22's, shotguns, AR's or lever action rifles, go. AR parts were cheap. If you want Glocks, I saw a few tables but the prices were ridiculous.

I saw a $16,000 Colt Python 6" D grade engraving. I saw one Japanese Nambu the same condition as mine but non matching serial numbers for $2,000. It was at the WWII Luger booth upstairs.

I got about 80% of the things I was looking for. I knew the pistol holster quest was gong to be hard but most of the holsters I saw were junk. I saw a few Smith 28's for $600 to $800 dollars which was too high in my book.

I saw no 27's. Model 29's were selling for around $1,200 to $2,000 depending upon condition and dash issue. Wheelguns were all going at a premium. I guess because of high demand?

I saw a Holland and Holland double rifle and a double barrel shotgun both for $36,000 ea.

Sweetyface wanted to go to The Gathering Place off of Riverside Drive so we drove over to it. She was commenting about why Tulsa could do this but OKC couldn't. About 30 minutes of waiting in line just driving into the parking lot to find a place to park she changed her tune and we left.

Had meatloaf at Cracker Barrel on 31st and overheard guys taking about the guns they let get away because of price then drove home.

So I set a new personal accomplishment. I went to the gun show walked around for two hours saw stuff that I was just sure I could not live without. Had a pocket full of folded over $100 bills and did not buy a single thing.

Anyone else get out without breaking into the kids college fund?

Part of me wanted to go back today. But I covered pretty much the whole thing yesterday, so I doubt I'd find anything I couldn't have seen yesterday. And my legs are tired and sore, and I'm retired so it's time for a nap. LOL!
