You can be smug if you want, but I don't have to say so. The State Legislature said so when they passed the law.

OK State law is not exactly aligned with the Federal law anyway, as the federal statues (in at least some places in statute) states a pistol is designed with a short stock and to be fired with one hand; the ATF acknowledges the "one hand" design. The state law in the SDA references one or both hands.

That's why the state law goes on to define the word, and not rely on an ambiguous definition to be sourced from some other outside context. It sounds like it's splitting hair, but definitions are important in the interpretation and promulgation of law, which is why they bother providing them when such acts are passed.
Let me break it down for you, your argument has nothing to do with the original post. Therefore, everything you are saying is pointless.

Having a Right means that you can do it regardless of what others think. Also, having a Right absolutely means you should do it, or you will lose said Right. Being free is not easy, because weak minded people will worry about what people think versus being free.

Like I said keep it up and see what happens. When the power shifts we might still have the 2nd Amendment on paper but they'll effectively regulate it out of existence. Stupid stunts like this just galvanize the public against our cause. Walking through a public park with an AR15 slung over your shoulder isn't exercising your rights it's putting your ignorance on display.

If you say so!

The definition of pistol was provided in response to questions raised in posts 41 and 42. If we're astray from the original post, it happened a long time before.

The more people we have bearing arms the better. Most mass shootings happen in gun free zones. There is no need to make non-gun-free zones into effectively gun-free zones for some magnanimous altruistic sacrifice of our own safety by not bearing arms to artificially soothe the sensibilities of an ignorant mass of snowflakes.

Woody

Those snowflakes vote. That's reality. They can see you openly carrying and gin up the outrage against you or you can be discreet and no one knows. No harm, no foul.

I will just say this, I live in Edmond and if I had seen this dumbass Rambo wanna be, I would have found cover, called the cops, drawn my own weapon and waited to see if he started shooting up the park. Things like this are stupid, irresponsible and gives the anti-gunners more fuel and reason to try and change the laws.

Those of you that want to do this kind of internet fame hunting crap should know that after Nov 1st there are going to be a whole lot more armed people watching your every move and some of them will be other dumbasses just chomping at the bit for the chance to shoot your dumb ass claiming they thought you were a mass shooter.

It does not really matter because his AR was a pistol by state and/or federal law. The point of the problem is the LEOs, as most, were ignorant of the actual law. His barrel was less than 16" and he had a brace on it. Our local, and respected lawyer on here, actually had a discussion about his topic when the law changed, about how although it is legal to carry an AR pistol, it would not be very smart. Most folks on the forum and the general public are sheeple, that will get scared of someone open carrying a AR because they are not intelligent enough to realize that all of their arguments are based the fact that antigun people have convinced them that an AR is dangerous because it is scary. Just read all of the posts in this thread.

There is a difference in the Right to do something and the Requirement to do it. No one is required to exercise a right, and even so, there are plenty of other ways to do so responsibly without disrupting other people and making yourself look like a fool. I further hold that maintaining the tactical advantage through the element of surprise is being prudent, not being afraid. (Ask this guy named Sun Tzu about that, if you don't believe me). Those who choose to open carry have the right to do so...currently. But take advantage of that long enough, and uncomfortably push it on others long enough, and piss off enough people with such Rambo-Like antics long enough and that can easily causes that right to become a rare privilege, and maybe even disappear. People vote. Why not act the prudent man, rather than the fool? What this guy did was put a bunch of people, including LEOs, ill at ease. Auditing the 2A...Ha! At least he got to be on TV.

I think the doughnut boys (sorry to our resident LEO fellas :) ) were correct. They can accomplish their so called "audit" by letting local Law Enforcement know whats going on ahead of time.
