I have a fairly new G17 and I'd like to improve the trigger pull.
So.... I order some parts from Midway which arrived today.
Here's the parts list...
Order Information
ZEV Technologies PRO Connector
Product #: 113150
Price Each: $14.25
Qty: 1
ZEV Technologies Firing Pin Safety
Product #: 399598
Price Each: $19.00
Qty: 1
ZEV Technologies Competition trigger spring
Product #: 611080
Price Each: $3.30
Qty: 1
So I first measured the pull as it is now, I have done some stoning with an Arkansas stone of the trigger areas so the pull right now is a little better than when I started out. I used a Lyman digital pull gauge.
Original Parts 5 lb 15 oz Avg of 5 pulls (all of these are 5 pull averages)
In each case below (except the last one), I took out the test device and went back to stock with only the one new ZEV device installed.
with ZEV Firing pin safety button $19.00 - 5 lb 16 oz
with ZEV trigger spring $3.30 - 5 lb 8 oz
with ZEV connector (3.5 lb) $14.25 - 4 lb 8 oz (This gadget made the most difference!)
with ZEV button, spring and connector $36.55 - 4 lb 8 oz
Which once again proves that the button & spring really don't improve the pull but it is much smoother with them in there so I left them in.
With all the above AND more stoning of surfaces - 4 lb 4 oz.
So I left it at that. It's not bad, not the best trigger I've got by far but not nearly as nasty as it was stock and dry.
I thought this might help someone else who is thinking of doing the same thing.
