Well lucky the builder put up a fence in the rear for the house behind me and also for the house on the west side so I only have one side to build and its like 40' long is all. I can and used to do this all myself but after my surgery I just don't have the ability to lift much (Dr. said nothing over 20 lbs) and I think a post hole digger full of dirt is pushing the limit and I know bags of concrete mix is way too much. I've been contemplating paying someone to build it, but...

Yeah, was going to help my father do something similar at his place. His wife didn't want me coming out around Christmas time to help get it done because that was his vacation. Ended up not going and a few months later he fell and was hurt so he ended up having to pay someone. But like I said if a few of us all get together pretty much any job can be tackled even if a bunch of us are only partly useful.

As far as a supervisor I have my own clipboard and I am sure I can find a whistle somewhere.... Then again maybe a starter pistol to keep in line with the site. Get some of those really hot 22 blanks from the hardware store and.... Well maybe not someone is bound to call the cops.

Have you ever noticed the signs that read ‘this road adopted by _______’
The group meets periodically and picks up trash? I know it’s not much but OSA would be on permanent signage. It would be a reason get together to BS and shoot too.
Just a thought

This is an excellent idea. Let me do some research and see if I can find out more about that. Now keep the ideas coming, but rather than focus on our own wants, let look outside and do something to help others. Oh sure, it would be fun to go help put up a fence for a fellow OSA member and eat burgers or whatever, but that's not in the spirit of this thread. We can easily organize things to help each other, and I'll be glad to participate, but post and request in its own thread please.

Maybe a street down by the State Capitol. We could all sling our pistols on our backs and..... well, maybe not the last part.

Being an old beat up night owl I do not know what I can do to help but if anything comes up I will try.

Thanks man, I'm not getting as much enthusiasm as I thought I might. Maybe I should organize a "Walk in the Park" thing. Everybody arm up, go heavy, get all tactical, and let's go scare the moms and kiddies on the merry-go-round. That'll show 'em we gots rights!

Problem is a lot of us are old and pretty banged up. I know I am just starting to get over a case of acute bronchitis that has been kicking my butt for weeks. Some of the others are in no better shape, or are to ugly to be out in daylight. :P

You might have something there, that out in daylight thing...hadn’t thought about that, but...yeah.

Here, but occasionally There.
Not to mention the fear factor when citizens weren't warned about "heavy-set, dirty old men" showing up in their neighborhoods. They might mistake one or two of us as "Creepy Joe."

I'd be interested in a project, but like the others, I'm limited in knowledge of some jobs and too old and fat for others. Besides, I have to "save myself" for the upcoming ROAD TRIP and picture taking. Wouldn't want to injure myself prior to taking that trip.
