President Trump was great today! Apparently, someone threw a cellphone at him when he approached the podium. We were watching and never noticed any commotion when the Secret Service ushered the suspect out.

Talked to a couple of people from Illinois. They are sick and tired of the political machine in Chicago running everything in the state. If they had their way, they could secede from state and leave Chicago to themselves. It instantly reminded me why we have a the Electoral College.

The combination of the Lucas Stadium and the Indianapolis Convention Center is an incredible convention site. I am very impressed with their site and organization.

There are rumblings of a riff between Wayne LaPierre and Oliver North. I have not seen them together yet. Perhaps they will take the stage together at Members Meeting Saturday. The Board of Directors Meeting on Monday looks like it will be very interesting.

In other news, in a Press Release from the CMP and NRA, 2019 will be the last year the NRA Pistol Championship will be hosted at Camp Perry Ohio. They have been held at Camp Perry since 1907! I heard rumors of this last year, but thought the decision had been made to stay at Camp Perry.

On a personal note, I took advantage of the on site specials and upgraded my membership to Patron.

I heard a story on NPR recently saying the NRA is really hard up for money; they don't even have free coffee in the office any more.
Also said the higher ups in the NRA make big money.
The source of the story was someone who worked in the NRA, really looked up to the org when he was younger but over the years he watched it become something he no longer believed in, so he left.

He said they spend a lot of money with some big PR firm; they create the face of the NRA, create the ads and the messaging.

I hate to see it go downhill, but our culture, the media, and now big money getting organized to oppose them is taking a toll.

I think they need new people at the top (not Dana Lesch, just because she has already been branded by the media as an evil woman) and a new direction.

I think they have the facts of gun ownership on their side, but the message isn't working.

Edit: I just saw the thread about Ackerman McQueen; I don't remember the name in the story but I'm guessing that's it.

Just saw that Oliver North announced he won't be serving a second term as the NRA president...

North told the board that he was forming a crisis committee to look at the organization’s finances and had told the board’s executive committee that LaPierre charged more than $200,000 in wardrobe purchases to a vendor.

HOLY ****!
