On our 2005 Alaskan cruise and land tour, I knew the one chance I might have would be at Denali National Park. But, also aware of my sorry luck, I talked my wife into taking that photo so that I could have "proof" of a "bear encounter."

But, I also lucked out in Denali when a female Grizzly crossed directly in front of our tour bus and started digging into the side of the slope after a ground squirrel.

And, since then, no more good luck.

This must have been the same Grizzly. Came up pretty close to the bus, and then just wandered around the area for about 10 minutes.

This was 2014, I think.

I do occasionally put my hat on backwards when I'm getting ready to leave in the morning, but I turn it around when I go outdoors because I'm a by-God Redneck, and I need the sun to keep it that way.

I have also been known to wear my ballcap backwards in the truck because the bill hits the roof or visor, or it hits the glass when I lean over to check something in the outside mirror. But then it hits the headrest, so I turn it around, then it hits something up front or to the side, and I take it off and throw it on the dash.
Sounds like you need to get a bandana cause your ball cap is messing with you !![emoji41]

A ball cap: I usually wear one while doing chores around the house or quick shopping. I DO NOT do the flat bill...leave all the stickers/decals on the hat thing.

When I was a cowboy/rancher....Stetson hats . Felt..usually 3x or 4x beaver in the Fall and Winter. Straw in the Spring and Summer.

**Proper etiquette was taught to me about ALL hats. Never on your head in a house, church, restaurant, "proper buildings"-school, courthouse....etc. If there wasn't a hat rack you left in in the truck. My truck had a hat rack holder but ANY time you set it down without a hat rack you set it on the crown...upside down...on the groove. Never ever set it on the brim...over time it will go out of shape and you'll need to have it reshaped.

always appreciate a nice rifle. when did your Dad give it to you?

Several years ago. I about had a heart attack when he did. The first thing I asked/said to him was "you better not be dying on me". Then thank you of course.. He's fine. He just wanted to do something nice for me.

Some folks just don't have a clue.......I guess this fella doesn't realize what the bill on a cap is for.

Sadly, that dude couldn't take a lesson from the other fellows wearing ball caps that were near him. But then, if he insists that he looks "cool" with the bill turned back, then he deserves for his arm to get sore from shading his eyes.

Between my upbringing and the Army I never wear a hat indoors. With the exception of the next couple of weeks...... I suffered a head injury and will be wearing a ball cap to cover the stitches. Since I have lost a fair amount of hair I need to wear a hat on sunny days, big brimmed sun/rain hat, and a knit cap on cold days.

I wasn't big into hats until a few years after being a field tech for Cox. Even then when I was off work I wouldn't wear one until I had a small melanoma removed from my right bald spot. But, as a field tech I wore my hat indoors and outside as I had no real good place to keep it as my hands were usually full. Now I wear a ball cap constantly and just never take it off except in certain circumstances. However, I still take it off to honor our flag, for passing funeral processions, etc.

And I can't tell you how many uniformed military I see go into QT with their covers on.
