Goldies used to be excellent, but the last one I went into near 21st/Utica smelled like old, dirty, damp carpet and I never went back. That one has been torn down, I hadn't thought about them in years. They still have restaurants in Tulsa?

I know the one out East turned into a Mexican seafood place. I think the Owasso one may still be there.

Edit - looks like there are still half a dozen

There are so many other, better burger options in Tulsa that Goldie's just doesn't come to mind when thinking I'd like a burger. Places that do come to mind: the 2 non-franchise places that are named Freddie's (E. 11th St./Mingo area & Utica/8th near TU), Hank's on Admiral, any Ron's location, Patriot Grill in Sapulpa, Billy's on the Square, Fat Guy's, Linda-Mar's 2 locations, Claud's, Weber's Root Beer, Bill's Jumbo on Admiral.

How about Happy Burger in Sapulpa? That place has been there forever, and is kind of a historic icon. It's not really a sit and eat place, so I've only ever eaten once as take-out, and it was good. Just never think of it. Has probably changed hands at least once or twice since I got anything there...

Has anyone tried the burger challenge at Paw Paws? I hear it's up to 17 patties!

I remember eating Goldie's 20+ years ago and it was delicious. Then somewhere along the way they changed from quality meat to what had to have been frozen patties. I got a burger that was cold and raw in the middle and burnt on the outside. I know it was from frozen. Waitress wanted me to pay for half the meal since I ate the coleslaw while waiting 10 minutes for he to show up and see my burger was nasty.
Sounds like Fuddruckers. I went to the one on 71st in Tulsa. They had a cook that didn't speak very good English, but one would assume a cook, any cook, could manage a burger. I ordered it well done. Paid for it. It arrived barely done outside, medium rare inside. I'd already paid for it and didn't want to go through the hassle so I just left. Haven't been back. Won't go back.

I stand by my earlier statement, viz. Red Robin makes some of the best burgers in Tulsa. Any who disagree obviously have neither taste nor breeding.

I hadn't eaten at Fuddruckers in probably over 10 years. Went in there in the last 6 months with my wife and daughter. Wasn't impressed place was virtually empty. I can't believe they can pay that rent on 71st.

The one in Dallas next to Bass Pro, down by the airport, is pretty good, as is the one in Denton (at least they were the last time I ate there, but it has been nearly ten years). My brother and I stopped at the one on 71st a few years ago, and it took them almost an hour to make the burgers, which weren't exactly special orders. And it's not like they were busy; the place was nearly empty. They were just inexplicably slow...
