Have a couple of boxes of Hornaday Black Box 123 grain grendel. Going to shoot that up (do that because my gun likes black box hornady in the creedmoor and grendel) and it gives me brass to reload. I will be it up to a couple of thousand at some point.
I'm going to try out some powder that seems to be a great place to start. Has great velocity and I'm a fan of Hodgdon. This is the H335 and I've only seen a few vids on load development. I'll be shooting the 24" Bear Creek fluted heavey threaded upper on my Colt 6920.
Not a fan of the Sier or nos ammo. I know they are great and everyone loves them, but I find Hornady eld match is just hard to beat. I've measured a bunch out of a box and they are dead on in length and gr. It's just me, but I trust Hornady match. Got the 120 gr because it's hard to find 123. Those are the two I want to test against each other but right now I'm must going to do the 120 and move up the SAAMI. Not starting from minimum but going to bump up 4 shots each to just below max at 100 yds.
Question. Most of the the test I've seen, that looked good, used small rifle primers, mostly Winchester. No Win around here but I've had great luck with CCI so I picked up some small CCI primers NO. 400. Is this the best choice for development of the PERFECT load? I honestly have seen no difference between the Fed's and the CCI's but that may be because I'm not as skilled to notice.
You guys have lots more experience on this than I do.
Also, I've put a few hundred rounds of the Black Box 123 eld through the BC grendel and I really like it. Want to get it pretty close before I move it out to 200/300/400. That's where I'm curious how this lighter bullet is going to work. To me hornady has always kept it's promise on ballistics. I will be using my Chrono and have pictures and data after.

Looking forward to the write up SF. I’m still shooting box ammo in both calibers to gather brass myself.

steelfingers, I have been interested in the 6.5 grendel ever since I heard the name, Beowulf has always been one of my favorite tales!! Silly reason to be interested in a particular cartridge but my mind is what it is LOL!!
Any way would love your input on the round if you would share!!

Cci 400s have done me great in my Grendel, h335 did better for me in the 100 grain bullet selection. Might look at ar comp. it’s does fantastic in mine for the 120-123 gr. Killed deer out to 500 yds

Seems a few people like the XBR and if I don't get the speed and standard deviation /groups I'll try that. All I could find so far is the 120 hornady eld match. My gun likes the 123 black box eld match factory but the 120 will be fine right now. If I can get some good numbers, I'll move it out to 200/300 and 500. Need to get the load picked so I can learn the tendencies of the ammo at distance like when does it lose it's feet

My load in a 22” barrel is getting 2595 mv with ar comp, it holds together pretty well at 100(nothing amazing) but holds together well at distance

Don’t remember off the top of my head, I ran into some pressure signs and backed down to get to that mv

"a fiend out of hell,
began to work his evil in the world.
Grendel was the name of this grim demon ...
he had dwelt for a time
in misery among the banished monsters,
Cain's clan, whom the Creator had outlawed
and condemned as outcasts...
and out of the curse of his exile there sprang
ogres and elves and evil phantoms
and the giants too who strove with God
time and again until He gave them their reward"

OK. Got it. Now what's your best load Grendel?
