Rule # 1; never ever buy any red mulch at a large box store or any discount house. That crap comes from Louisiana and the mulch is made from termite infested deadfall.

Also, every piece of property in OK has termites.

Not necessarily true...

...there are very few in the Oklahoma Panhandle. I think that in all the years I lived up there, I NEVER heard of anyone having termite issue.

Not much else pout there either.

Damn good soil for growing crops, provided one can get the moisture to do it. Moisture is what is really lacking. But, I've seen a late snow come in and leave good moisture. One year, we had an April snow and nothing else after that, but we still raised a dang good crop of grain sorghum.

Lots of irrigation out there now with clouds of pheasant, mule deer, antelope and prairie dogs for wildlife.

They came out Saturday and did the treatment. They did a really good job. I couldn’t even tell they were there with the exception of the holes that had to be filled with concrete. He has a one year guarantee that if anything happens he will come back and treat the house for nothing. And after the contract expires in one year I can renew it for $70 a year. I think that is a great deal. @slimdeal, I don’t use red mulch. I use Scott’s black cedar mulch.
