I think he wants to confiscate anything AR-15 related, or as he mistakenly calls them "assault weapons".
Probably including your 10-22's as well because they can hold mega "clips". We call them magazines.

I bet you're probably right. I know Booker's thrown wild idea all over to see what may stick, and I'm certainly no fan of his. But the original article was (deliberately) vague with omission of details like just incite uncertainty, rage, and get some clicks.

Not that that ever happens around here :D

The BIG Lie:
“[Gun licensing] is not a plan that any law-abiding gun owner should be concerned about it.”
—Sen. Cory Booker (On the contrary, it’s a plan that every constitutionally minded American should be concerned about.)
“Is Booker’s idea to license gun owners anymore constitutional than requiring a license for speech? … No one seems to take the problem seriously. There are 400 millions guns out there. If someone wants a gun, they’re going to get one. Licensing, background checks, microstamping new guns won’t even have a nominal effect on criminals.”
—Frank J. Fleming

So I don’t support Booker, or his gun control proposals but there’s some missing context here. Has to be. He’s proposing licensing, monthly purchase limits on handguns, and some other things.

So it’s not a mass confiscation of firearms. I’d like to know the context of the compulsory buybacks that lead to jail time if not followed. Current owners who fail a background check? Owning a firearm type that legislation will prohibit?
If you read the current laws of New York, New York City, New Jersey, CT, MD, you will see the mindset he's coming from. Some examples, CT changed rifle laws and current owners turned them in without compensation. Allowing another person, EVEN A LICENSED ONE, to shoot your handgun at the range is a crime, and the basis for your permit being revoked in NY. New Jersey law is that if you are driving through NJ and the wheels stop turning for ANY REASON, the Federal FOPA does NOT APPLY. I was stationed in MD, and you can only transport guns between state-approved destinations; it is a crime to play tourist in MD with an unloaded gun locked in the trunk in compliance with Federal law. The context of his statements is he considers the 2nd amendment is obsolete and irrelevant, the state has absolute power, and ignores the high crime in the prohibitively restrictive cities. He knows that its about political power, not reducing crime.

I didn’t know much about him before last year. After the way Cory Booker acted during the Kavanagh confirmation, the theatrics, lies, false accusations that he committed I don’t trust a thing he says or does and not just because he’s a Communist liberal Democrat

OK, I saw this on TV today. Originally he wanted total confiscation of AR's and their variants. If you don't turn in, you get arrested with a house to house search.
He has since backed off this statement stating now he wants a federal registration of all that own any gun to include the personal inventory.
When pressed by the host about him wanting to have gun owners arrested, he skirted the issue and stated he just wanted a federal registration now to know who owns what, and his dislike for the AR's saying nobody should or need to own one.

So this provides some clarity. Thanks for the update!

My AR and I are laughing at his backpedaling.
